Lifeblood Camberwell
Ardent Architects were engaged to design and deliver a brand new blood donor center for Red Cross Lifeblood in Camberwell VIC. One of the major challenges was the existing tenancy had been built to be a data centre with a large area of floating floor to accommodate mass data cabling underneath. The existing building from the 1990’s required modification to comply with modern disabled access requirements under the national construction code.
The design team worked closely with the client and the fit-out contractor to fast-track the project with construction commencing as soon as the wall locations were finalised. The design team then worked fast paced to complete construction documentation in the order in which trades were scheduled to commence on site. The facility is registered with the Therapeutic Goods Administration, which required a level of detailing comparable to a medical facility.
